Being a Youth Pastor is Fun

2011

Working as a youth pastor can be a very rewarding job as well as very tiring. There are always projects to find, arts and crafts to do and children to entertain one way or another. Every once in a while I luck out with the ability to offer a trip to the children.

This year I managed to secure the wizard of oz matinee tickets under a group rate so we got a bit of a discount. I advertised the tickets being up for grabs, but we did it a little differently than we usually do. We only had a fixed amount of tickets so we put bible verses in a hat and each child that was interested in going picked a verse. The children that came back in one week able to recite it will earn the ability to go. There were children studying the bible in the hopes of going on a trip. Little did they know we had enough tickets for everyone. But how wonderful it was to see little ones studying the bible.

Singing Lessons Los Angeles – Staying with Your Teacher

Greg Safel here, Voice Teacher, Singing Lessons Los Angeles, and I want to talk today a little bit about staying with your teacher. Asyou get older it’s important to stay with the teacher especially theone that has helped to build your voice, because as we get older ourvocal cords change in thickness and your teacher knows what your soundis, how you work and what you need to do to keep your voice consistentas you get a little older. Vocal cords don’t fully mature until you’rearound 35 years old so it’s important to stay with your teacherbecause after they get a little thicker, you need to like makeadjustments to get the sound that you are used to having. It’s alwaysgood to stay consistent with a teacher because they know you, theyknow your voice. When people start switching around to differentteachers, it can be a detriment because the new teacher doesn’t knowyour voice, and has to take time to get to know you and your voice. Soif you’re getting along well with your teaching and you have a goodworking relationship, stay with your teacher! This is Greg Safel,Voice Teacher, Singing Lessons Los Angeles.
