I had always enjoyed traveling to other countries and had been to Asia a few years ago. My fiance had never really traveled but it had been his dream to go to Asia. We decided to have a small, intimate wedding there and fly just our immediate family over to be there with us. After much planning and finding a church, my dream wedding came true. We were able to find a bakery to make sweets for the reception, a priest and a photographer who also agreed to video the wedding. We just celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary this weekend and for fun we watched our Asian wedding video with friends and family. Some people may think it is a lot of trouble to get married in another country and plan it, but for us it was a small enough wedding that we had it just the way we wanted it. We also have our wedding video to watch whenever we want as a permanent reminder of that special day.

What is the Ideal Format of a Screenplay?
06.02
You’re all set to go. You can’t wait to get started putting your script idea to paper, however, before you really dig in, you need to know the ideal format of a screenplay so that you can shape it in a way that captures the attention of producers. Many budding screenwriters have great ideas for a TV or film script, but often their scripts never make it past the desk of producers and agents because they lack the format needed to quickly get noticed. Understanding the key qualities of a good screenplay screenwriting are critical for making the most of your script’s first impression.
The first thing that gets noticed by directors and producers is the length of the script. When they check the page count, they want to see a script that is no longer than 115 pages. Try to make your complete script around 110 pages to ensure that it’s not considered to be too long. After judging that the script is the ideal length, producers will next look at the title. You should place the title at the beginning in a place that’s easy to see so that the reader can tell exactly what the movie is. If a producer can’t immediately see the identity of the script, then it will likely get discarded, which means it will go no further and you will have lost that opportunity.
After successfully clearing the hurdles of being sure your screenplay is at an acceptable length and has a clear title, then you can focus on quickly capturing the attention of your audience. In a recent interview, famed producer Tom Nunan revealed that the first five pages of a script will tell him whether or not a screenplay is worth reading. Since most producers will determine in just a few pages whether or not they will continue reading your screenplay, your story must come out of the gate strong if you want to get your entire film script read.
In order to increase the likelihood of having your script read, you should avoid what producers refer to as over-writing, which refers to the tendency to be too descriptive of the action and having too many instructions for how a scene should be directed. Starting the script with an over emphasis on descriptive details or demands of how various scenes should be carried out is viewed as negative in the eyes of producers. This sure sign of amateurism can make reading the script difficult, which is exactly what you don’t want when trying to garner interest in your screenplay. Instead, most producers and executives will place more importance on the dialogue in your script before being concerned with descriptions.
As you can see, the ideal format of a screenplay involves making a strong impression that will result in having your script getting read by producers or film executives. Just remember to confine your script to a reasonable length that will not appear to be too cumbersome to read through. Make your script easy to identify with a well placed title that give the producer and a clear knowledge of what they are reading. The first few pages of your script are the most important in getting the attention of your reader. In these first critical pages, place more emphasis on dialogue between characters rather than being overly descriptive of particular scenes or instructions for directing scenes. Following this format will give your screenplay a fighting chance to be successful.
