It would seem that every one’s number one New Year resolution this year is it to lose weight. In fact, so many of the cooking magazines are featuring all kinds of healthy chicken recipes that it will be no problem coming up with new and delicious ideas. We all know that chicken is a healthy substitute for beef, as it is high in protein and low in fat. Many of these healthy chicken recipes take their lead from a variety of different recipes, but substitute lean chicken in place of other cuts of meats. Many of the magazines show you how you can take a simple chicken recipe and create of mouth watering and healthy chicken recipe with the addition of herbs and spices. Add a few healthy veggies and you have a new dish to serve your family, keep your new year’s resolution and loose a few unwanted pounds.

Tips for Tasty Smoothies

It is hard to argue the many health benefits of smoothies. They are a great way to get added nutrition into your diet as most of us do not get enough fruits and vegetables otherwise. If you are new to making smoothies, here are a few things that you will want to keep in mind.
First, it is wise to invest in the best blender that you can afford. The best blenders on the market are the Vitamix and BlendTec Blender, but obviously they are not in everyones budget. A good but more budget friendly option is the ninja blender, which is what I have. It may not be quite as powerful as the more expensive models, but it is far better than your average blender when it comes to making smoothies.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you should always add your liquids, followed by your soft solids and lastly your frozen ingredients and ice.
