Celebrating its 10th year, Lancaster Brewing Company is carrying on a long tradition of beer brewing in the Susquehanna Valley.

Back in the early 18th century brewing beer was a thriving industry in Lancaster County, PA. In fact, by 1810, beer produced in the county accounted for seven percent of all the beer produced in the entire United States. The industry and the reputation for brewing a quality product continued to grow into the early 20th century. Then hard times befell these thriving entrepreneurs with World War 1 and prohibition.

After the repeal of prohibition in 1933, the breweries came back but faced stiff competition from the major, automated, breweries. One by one they fell by the wayside until in 1956 the last locally owned, craft brewery closed its doors.

Lancaster Malt Brewing opened its doors in 1995 and worked to restore the tradition of Lancaster brewed beers. They fell on hard times and were acquired by the Lancaster Brewing Company in 2001. For the past ten years they’ve been producing a wide range of top quality beers, ales and lagers with loving care.

But a great brew deserves great food to accompany it and Lancaster Brewing Company has put together a menu to rival its beers. From soups and appetizers to salads and hand-tossed pizza, sandwiches and top-of-the-line entrees, there’s something to please every palate.

And it can all be enjoyed on the premises or in your own home because the entire menu is available for delivery by Carryout Courier — usually in 45 minutes to an hour. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania law doesn’t allow for the delivery of the brewed products.
